After the stormy night There comes a grey dawn. Then, I lay in the silence of my fear That feeling now has gone. After the nightmare's hold has been broken, Shattered like glass, After the captive dreamer has woken Memories pass, Swept from the reach of all recollection Scattered by winds Blowing in each and every direction. Take me too! Under a starry sky, Sleep-walker, once I kept Rendezvous with a dark enchantress, Imprisoned as I slept. Oh but, After emotion's spell has been broken, Shattered like glass, After the captive lover has woken Memories pass, Swept from the reach of all recollection Scattered by winds Blowing in each and every direction. Take me too! Was there a moon-lit isle Where love found its eclipse, Where I drowned in the ocean of her eyes, Drank nectar from her lips? After the hour-glass had been broken, Time out of hand, Grain after grain, love's island eroded, Spilling like sand Swept from the reach of all resurrection Scattered by waves Flowing in each and every direction. Take me too! Take me with you. |
