Book Review by Jack Falt

Marsh, Curt, Dare to Dream: Inspirational insights for achieving a successful and fulfilling life, Riverside, CA: True Colors, 2000, ISBN 1-893320-21-9, pp 122

This books describes how Curt Marsh became a Super Bowl champion and then suffered injuries to his ankle that resulted in the foot being amputated. After twelve operations the doctors could not stop the excruciating pain, so the foot had to be sacrificed.

His story of how he went from the depths of despair to becoming a motivational speaker has many poignant and heartwarming moments. With support from his family and many friends he was able to overcome his handicap and actually win a gold medal in the Boston Paralympics for weight lifting.

In one of the chapters he briefly describes the True Colors™ system to determine temperament and how useful he has found it for his own life and the lives of many others.

This is a book aimed mainly at the high school student but it is suitable for adults as well. Its message is an inspiration to all. His Luthern Christian values come through strongly about overcoming obstacles and treating everyone with respect.
