This picture of my work shows black iron piping to a gas meter that was a required step in a cooktop installation. Code requires shielding the gas pipe to safeguard against corrosion. Notice the plastic ABS sleeve on the gas line as it enters the wall. I use this sleeve when possible as it is a far better insulator from the moisture in the cement than wrapping the pipe with tape, as it is often done. |
