This handout is one sheet, two sides, that participants would use to record their own estimations of what their scores will be as the presenter describes each dimension of behaviour. One side of the sheet is to be used to indicate on a line the strength of their score, and what preference it might be as a “Self-Assessment” or their real self as they see themselves, and how they see themselves in “Work Situations.” After they receive the preference results from the indicator, these are added, and finally there is a space for what they consider their “Best Fit” Type. On the rest of the page is the key concept for each preference, with lots of room for people to add words of their own from your descriptions.
The other side of the sheet gives lists of words describing each preference that participants can use to check off to help them estimate their preferences.
There is a two-page leader’s guide as well. This outlines the steps to follow after the indicator has been completed, but before the results are given. In the training to administer the MBTI® instrument facilitators are taught to present the concepts before giving out the results. The theory being that people will pay more attention to the overall ideas and not just focus on the information that relates to their preferences. This has proven to be a sound idea that we may forget, particularly when we are new to giving workshops or individual counselling.
