David Keirsey was the man who rediscovered and developed temperament theory which he describes is his book Please Understand Me II. He used different terms for the temperaments rather than colours: Artisan (Action Orange), Guardian (Dependable Gold), Idealist (Empathic Blue) and Rational (Analysing Green).
